Ferris has taken fourth place in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association standings after sweeping Michigan State, and are two league points shy of the league’s leaders.

The Spartans left Ewigleben Ice Arena last night, Jan. 19,  defeated 5-2 by the Bulldogs in the two teams final match as conference counterparts in a season.

The Bulldogs line with junior center Cory Kane, senior forward Eric Alexander, and junior forward Andy Huff combined for two goals and 3 assists on the night.

Ferris’ top line of senior center Travis Oullette, forward Kyle Bonis, and junior forward Garrett Thompson also combined for two goals and a pair of assists.

Ferris sophomore center Dom Panetta scored his first collegiate hockey goal as a Bulldog.

In the first night of the series, Jan. 18th, Ferris snagged a 2-1 road win at Michigan State’s Munn Arena. The Bulldogs secured a 1-0 lead when junior center Cory Kane scored his sixth goal the season. The Spartans tied the game 1:08 after Kane’s goal.

During the third period Ferris senior center Travis Oullette scored the game-winning goal, with the help of line mates Bonis and Thompson. Bonis delivered a pass to a centering Thompson. Thompson drew the attention of three defenders before sending a backhand pass to Oullette, who was left open to pot the shot in MSU’s top left.
