Renee Urbanc and Jaimee Mackey are interning at a place where they don’t do any work.

Both Urbanc and Mackey applied for internships at CMT in Nashville, for the spring 2010 semester, and both received positions. Urbanc works in the Music Strategy Department and Mackey works in the Production Management Department.

The reason neither of these two does any work is because they don’t look at this internship as work, they look at it as something they love. It’s an unpaid internship, but they don’t mind. (more…)

Guest speakers and artists Miriam Brysk and Helen Degen Cohen have something in common with my grandmother; all of these women are Polish survivors of the Holocaust.

On Feb. 24, Cohen presented her Holocaust-themed poetry and Brysk presented her artwork on the same topic. Listening to the women talk about the Nazis invading Poland made me cry silently and reminded me of stories my grandmother has told me about her own experience during World War II. by Brandy VanDenbrook, Ferris State Torch Published: Feb 17, 2010

Spring break is fast approaching and students are deciding if and where they will be heading for vacation.

Students’ selections can be determined based on whether they want and then decide if they want to drive, fly, or take a train to that destination. But, that’s only part of the trip as there are many options for shelter such as a hotel, resort, or beach house. All for a price, of course.

Deb Wright, intern at Time Two Travel LLC in Big Rapids, said, “Students who come to us usually have a set price range and we try to work something out according to that number.” (more…)
