Reports of malicious vehicle damage

Broken window at Brophy

On April 13 at 11:17 a.m., officers were dispatched to Brophy Hall in regards to a broken window. The investigation revealed a suspect in the incident. The report was forwarded to the Office of Student Conduct and the prosecutor’s office.

Malicious destruction

On April 14 at 1:45 a.m., officers responded to a malicious destruction of property in progress in Lot 61. Officers investigated the incident by witness accounts, and a suspect was identified. The report was forwarded to the Office of Student Conduct and the prosecutor’s office.

Smoking and drinking

On April 12 at 12:03 a.m., officers responded to a report of subjects smoking marijuana in Lot 4. The investigation revealed several subjects smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol. One subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant. The situation was referred to the Office of Student Conduct and the prosecutor’s office.

Rock thrown through windshield

On April 6 at 5:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to Lot 25 in reference to a vehicle being damaged. The investigation revealed that a large rock had been thrown through the windshield. DPS is continuing the investigation.

Broken mirror

On April 6 at 8:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to Lot 61 in response to a vehicle damage report. The owner of the vehicle found the passenger’s side mirror broken and dangling.

Marijuana complaint

On April 8 at 10:31 p.m., officers were dispatched to Hallisy Hall in reference to a marijuana complaint. The investigation revealed a small amount of marijuana, and the situation was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Marijuana seized

On April 7 at 1:15 a.m., officers were dispatched to Bond Hall in reference to a marijuana complaint. The investigation revealed a suspect, and a moderate amount of marijuana was seized. The report was forwarded to the Office of Student Conduct and the prosecutor’s office.

Expired plates

On April 12 at 10:53 p.m., officers observed a vehicle with an expired license plate near the intersection of Perry Avenue and State Street. The investigation revealed that the driver was intoxicated, and the subject was lodged in the county jail.

Ticket Totals: From April 1 through April 15, the Department of Public Safety reported a total of 811 violations. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $5,895. The actual amount depends on whether the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
