Marijuana complaint in Lot 47

On Jan. 18 at 2 a.m., there was a report of a suspicious vehicle in Lot 47. An investigation revealed three people smoking marijuana, and the subjects were referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Stolen laundry bin

On Jan. 14 at 11:15 a.m., there was a report of a laundry bin stolen from East Campus Suites. The property was recovered, and one subject was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Suspicious situation at ECS

On Jan. 18 at 10:30 a.m., there was a report of a suspicious situation at East Campus Suites. A female reportedly screamed before getting into a vehicle that then drove off. A witness believed the female was being abducted. The two subjects involved were identified and casino apologized for their horseplay that caused a disturbance.

Fight at the Sports Complex

On Jan. 20 at 1 a.m., there was a report of disorderly conduct at an event in the multi-purpose room at the Sports Complex. Officers shut the event down due to
fighting.

Car vs. deer

On Jan. 19 at 9:45 a.m., there was a report of a car-deer accident on Knollview Drive.

Theft from the Market

On Jan. 21 at 10:25 a.m. there was a report of stolen property from the Market, Ferris’ on-campus convenience store. The theft occurred on Jan. 19 at 2:45 p.m. A suspect has been identified and a warrant request has been sent to the prosecutor’s office.

Glass panel broken at Rankin

On Jan. 12 at 7:20 p.m., there was a report of a glass panel broken in the concession stand at the Rankin Center. Anyone with information is asked to contact DPS.

Disorderly subjects at Travis

On Jan. 21 at 2:15 a.m., officers assisted Travis Hall staff with disorderly subjects. Two subjects were referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Ticket totals: From Jan. 15 through Jan. 22, the Department of Public Safety reported 318 total violators. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $5,290. Actual amount depends on whether the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
