Ferris employee harasses student

A round-up of this week’s crime across the FSU campus

Unwanted contact

On Nov. 4 at 11:30 a.m., there was a report of unwanted contact between a university employee and a student in Vandercook Hall. The report has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for a warrant.

Marijuana complaint

On Nov. 3 at 3:30 a.m., officers assisted Hallisy Hall staff with a marijuana complaint. Four subjects were referred to the office of student conduct.

Officers assist

On Nov. 1 at 8:30 p.m., officers assisted the sheriff’s department with a three-car crash in front of Walmart.

Breaking and entering

On Nov. 2 at 1:50 a.m., officers assisted city police with a residential breaking and entering complaint. One subject was lodged in the county jail.

Vehicle damage

On Nov. 4 at 7 p.m., there was a report of a vehicle damaged on the bike rack near Taggart Hall.

Gas smell

On Nov. 4 at 8:45 p.m., officers assisted the fire department with a gas smell in West Campus Apartments.

Stolen coat

On Nov. 5 at 9:50 p.m., there was a report of a coat taken from the Student Rec Center.

Intoxicated subject

On Nov.1 at 5:20 a.m., there was a report of an intoxicated subject at Arts and Science Commons. The subject was transferred to the hospital.

Stolen laptop

On Oct. 31 at 4:20 p.m., there was a report of a laptop stolen from Cramer Hall.

Brophy Hall fight

On Nov. 2 at 2:45 a.m., there was a report of a fight in Brophy Hall. Three subjects were referred to the office of student conduct. Multiple warrant requests were sent to the prosecutor’s office.

Drunk driver

On Nov. 3 at 2:30 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle for defective equipment on State Street near Ferris Drive. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was lodged in the county jail.

Suspicious situation

On Nov. 2 at 1:30 a.m., officers investigated a suspicious situation in Lot 61. Two subjects were lodged in the county jail for possession of marijuana.

Obstructing police

On Nov. 7 at 12:15 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle for an improper turn on Ferris Drive. One subject was lodged in the county jail for obstructing police.

Runaways recovered

On Oct. 30 at 4:20 p.m., officers assisted Eagle Village employees in recovering a runaway. The subject was located on campus.

Malicious destruction

On Nov. 3 at 1:55 a.m., officers assisted the city police with a malicious destruction of property complaint on Fuller Avenue.

Erratic driving

On Oct. 30 at 9:30 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle in Applebee’s parking lot for erratic driving. Two subjects were referred to the office of student conduct for possession of marijuana.

Fight on Damascus

On Nov. 3 at 5:30 p.m., there was a report of fight possibly involving a gun on Damascus Street near East Campus Apartments. The subjects were located and no weapon was involved in the altercation.

Ticket Totals: From Oct. 31 to Nov. 7, the Department of Public Safety reported 446 violations. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $7,730. The actual amount depends on whether the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
