Letter From the Editor: Voicemail Vexation

by Published: Mar 3, 2010

A few weeks ago, I wrote a letter from the editor describing my excitement at the possibility of emerging technologies.

I described my new found appreciation for Twitter, though certainly not an obsession, and text messaging replacing normal conversation. (more…)

My e-mail inbox was visited last week by a message from the University reminding me that the Graduation Fair was fast approaching; as a senior graduating in May of this year, that’s a bit daunting. (more…)

Letter From the Editor: Expectation of Innovation

by Published: Feb 17, 2010

I like big ideas. More importantly, I like ideas that I think will fail, but eventually come to fruition.

It’s exciting that something thought to be impossible or too far reaching exceeds our expectations and re-frames the argument of what is improbable. (more…)

My Lent Intent

by Published: Feb 17, 2010

Raised in a Catholic household, I’ve spent nearly two decades giving something up for Lent.

Meant to remind Catholics of the 40 days of Jesus’ fast, Lenten ritual requires that something be given up, a sort of vice, to remind us of His suffering. (more…)

Letter From the Editor: No Batteries Necessary

by Published: Feb 10, 2010

I really hope that the literary mark of our lifetime won’t involve vampires or wizards.

I enjoyed reading the Harry Potter book series immensely and feel that the draw they created to get young people reading is important. While I’m not a particular fan of anything to do with vampires falling in love with non-vampires and werewolves who get mixed up in all of it, there can be no doubt that reading something is better than reading nothing. Letter From the Editor: Train Your Brain

I’ve always been a trivia buff. Jeopardy! and Cash Cab comprise a percentage of my time and tid-bits of inane and seemingly useless knowledge are sprinkled on my cerebellum from years of collective experience and retained information

It isn’t a need to know all, but a desire to learn. (more…)
