The Bulldogs snapped out of a three-game winless funk with two dominating road performances as they outscored Bowling Green University 7–2 in their two– game series sweep Jan. 7–8.

Black Friday brings out the worst in people

by Published: Dec 1, 2010

People love a bargain, and nothing proves this more than the absolute madness that is displayed every year on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Only one day after people spend time with their families and give thanks to all the things one has been blessed with, people turn into complete savages in order to save a few dollars on stuff they probably do not even need. Showing their true nature, women will start a fist fight over a coffee maker, men will hit women over an HD TV, and pregnant women will be trampled. These are only a few of the many examples of violent acts that occur on Black Friday in the name of a great sale. (more…)

Asinine Advising

Students often complain about not getting enough help from their advisors

by Published: Nov 10, 2010

I have heard a vast multitude of horror stories from both friends and strangers about having issues with their advisors.

Students being one class short of being able to graduate, not having enough classes over the 300 level to graduate, taking classes that they did not even need, and being told a required course transferred when it really didn’t are just a few examples of these problems. (more…)

Political Idol

Vote for the person because of who he or she is, not the party he or she represents

by Published: Oct 27, 2010

As each election rolls around we always hear how important it is for each person to get out and vote, that our vote really matters.

The problem I have with this is that our votes DO matter. The issue is the vast majority of Americans, even those that do vote, do not truly take this to heart. (more…)

Candy Cravings

Sugar-free candy a healthier alternative for the waistline

by Published: Oct 20, 2010

The leaves have started to change and the days are starting to grow cooler, both signals that the fat months are amongst us.

In the next three months a lot of us will be celebrating Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. During these holidays countless Americans will gain weight as we are first presented with a ridiculous amount of candy, and then pumpkin or pecan pie goodness, and last all the cookies and cakes that go along with a very merry Christmas to round out the fat fiesta. Rude

Take the time to show your fellow citizen some common courtesy

by Published: Oct 15, 2010

I feel that I am a pretty even keel individual; it is pretty hard to get me riled up.

With that said, your everyday common rudeness really gets me mad. The reason is that in most situations where people are rude are spawned from pure thoughtlessness and a total disregard for other people. (more…)
