FSU put on its annual Ferris Fest event on April 16, where they played host to big names such as Sean Kingston and Cartel, along with many other acts.

The concert that is considered by most to be the biggest Ferris State University event of the year was moved into Wink Arena this year due to inclement weather. The arena drew in a crowd so large that maximum capacity was reached, and they had to begin turning people away. (more…)

Ferris Fraught Farewell

As my college career draws to a close, I still can’t help but wonder what the next step holds

by Published: Apr 27, 2011

By the end of college, they say you’re supposed to have some sort of direction you’re going in life. Well, newsflash, I don’t.

I’ve heard the same thing repeated my entire life. In elementary school we could be whatever we wanted. In middle school we could still be whatever we wanted. In high school we didn’t have to pick a career yet, we just had to get into a good school. Even in college after changing my major numerous times I was always told it was all right, I still had time. (more…)

Contrary to what is now popular belief, Sean Kingston, not Justin Bieber, will be headlining this year’s concert and will be taking the stage at 5 p.m. the day of the event. The openers for Kingston will include Cartel, Steve Means, and Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys. (more…)

January Jams replacement concert hopes to electrify students

by Published: Mar 30, 2011

After months of hard work and dedication, the Music Industry Management Association will finally present FSU with its first ever electronic music concert.

MIMA has been collaborating with other registered student organizations since the middle of November to make this concert a possibility at Ferris. Besides holding formal meetings to get financing and approval for the event, the group also had to get sponsors and do all the promotion. Over 100 volunteers have helped the nine students who originally began working to make this concert a reality. (more…)

Students should be Ferris’ first priority at the Rock Cafe

by Published: Mar 16, 2011

Ferris State University should put the needs of its students before the needs of the public.

I’ve been attending FSU for three years now. Over time I have watched two cafeterias on campus close and one be renovated. There are now only two dining options for students with meal plans like myself. (more…)

Spring break is only weeks away and students concerned about being bathing suit ready need look no further than the FSU Recreation Center for a solution.

Many students become increasingly worried about toning up and losing weight during this time of year because they want to be ready to hit the beach in March. The problem is compounded by the fact that the holiday months have just passed and most people have put on weight during this time. (more…)
