Bulldogs have mixed results in final road contests of the year

Taking to the road over the week­end, the Bulldog vol­ley­ball team would fall to Northern on Friday but refo­cus and defeat Michigan Tech on Sunday.

Searching for a win on Sunday dur­ing their last GLIAC divi­sional match, the Bulldogs beat the Huskies 3–1. Ferris beat Michigan Tech in 4 matches 25–15, 25–22, 23–25, and 25–22. (more…)

Heading to Championships: Select cross coun­try run­ners were sent to com­pete in the Eastern Michigan Classic this past week­end. The Bulldogs will be head­ing to the GLIAC Championship on Nov. 6. Torch File Photo

The men’s and women’s teams sent select run­ners to com­pete in the Eastern Michigan Classic over the weekend.

Although they came in non-scoring posi­tions, both teams did well con­sid­er­ing the course and stiff com­pe­ti­tion as the Bulldogs con­tinue to pre­pare for the GLIAC cham­pi­onship. (more…)

Men’s team claims third at Hillsdale Invitational, women take 16th at Penn State National

The Bulldog men and women cross coun­try teams were both on the road this week­end as the men con­tin­ued to improve while the women fell to the mid­dle of the pack.

The men’s team went to com­pete in the Hillsdale Charger Invitational in Hillsdale on Saturday. The team fin­ished third in the over­all stand­ings behind Hillsdale College and GVSU for the tour­na­ment. The total team time was 2:17:32.00 and it ended with a score of 98. (more…)

Bulldogs conclude home schedule with win, tie

The Bulldogs keep their unbeaten streak alive by beat­ing Michigan Tech 2–0 and tying Northern Michigan 1–1.

On Sunday, the Bulldogs hosted the Wildcats, but only man­aged to bat­tle to a tie. The only goal from the Bulldogs came from junior Bri Borgam and was assisted by senior Kristen March late in the first period. Ferris would hold Northern to a 1–0 score until the final min­utes of the game until the Wildcats would redeem them­selves and tie the game up in the sec­ond period. (more…)

Bulldogs win two over the weekend to extend winning streak to three games

The Bulldogs went into the home­com­ing week­end look­ing for wins and that’s exactly what they found win­ning against both Ashland and Lake Erie.

On Saturday night, the Bulldogs came out fir­ing in a match against Lake Erie, win­ning the match in three sets. The Bulldogs man­aged to rack up a .238 hit­ting per­cent­age over the three matches. (more…)

Ferris gets back to winning ways with two victories over the weekend

Playing their first game on Top Taggert field, the Bulldogs bat­tled their way to a 2–0 win over Saginaw Valley State University on Friday.

During the first half, the Bulldogs wasted no time scor­ing the first goal as junior Bri Borgman tal­lied the goal against Saginaw Valley to notch her sev­enth goal of the sea­son. (more…)

The Bulldogs tried to fight their way to a win­ning fin­ish on Friday, but ulti­mately fell short to the Grand Valley State Lakers, 6–3.

The dou­bles matches was where the Bulldogs saw most of their trou­ble as only one team, seniors Amy Ingle and Tiffany Rheynard, claimed a dou­bles vic­tory. They defeated their oppo­nents 8–6. (more…)

Bulldogs finish seventh out of 14 teams at GVSU Classic

After a short break from com­pe­ti­tion last week, the Bulldogs women’s golf team trav­eled to play in the Grand Valley State Laker Classic over the weekend.
