The Bulldog men’s bas­ket­ball team was in good spir­its this week­end after defeat­ing both Tiffin and Ohio Dominican to start the GLIAC schedule.

On Saturday, the Bulldogs hosted Ohio Dominican and kept a com­mand­ing lead through the game, as they man­aged to rack up a 50 per­cent field goal shoot­ing per­cent­age to Ohio’s 32.3 per­cent in the first half, slightly decreas­ing that per­cent­age in the sec­ond half but still dom­i­nat­ing over Ohio. The Bulldog women’s bas­ket­ball team dropped its first con­fer­ence game on Thursday but bounced back in the sec­ond con­fer­ence on Saturday.

On Saturday, the Bulldogs faced Ohio Dominican. Ferris started off slow but man­aged to gain the lead halfway through the sec­ond half and didn’t look back. (more…)

 
 

Gobbling Up the Competition

Ferris stretches win streak to three over Thanksgiving break

The Bulldogs women’s bas­ket­ball team notched its third con­sec­u­tive win on Nov. 24th by defeat­ing St. Joseph’s on the road, increas­ing their record to 3–1 overall.

The Bulldogs were strongest in the sec­ond half, but still held the lead through­out the entire game. They stopped the Pumas in their tracks and outscored St. Joseph’s 37–22 in the final half. (more…)

Ferris has 10 players named to All-GLIAC Team

The GLIAC offices announced the 2010 All-GLIAC Football team last Wednesday, includ­ing 10 Bulldog foot­ball players.

Ferris swept by LSSU after sweeping No. 1 Miami

The Bulldogs were left score­less on the road as Lake Superior State took a week­end sweep over the 20th-ranked Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs started strong in the first period of the sec­ond con­test of the week­end series, as they out­shot the Lakers 11–5, but were unable to cap­i­tal­ize with a score. (more…)

The Bulldogs shocked the seem­ingly unbeat­able No. 1 nationally-ranked Miami (Ohio) RedHawks with two dra­matic victories.

“I was very happy with the win and it meant a lot to the team because obvi­ously Miami has a ter­rific pro­gram,” said Ferris head coach Bob Daniels. “It meant a lit­tle bit more because it was Miami.” (more…)

Bulldog cross country teams put up strong performances at GLIAC Championships

Both the men’s and women’s Cross Country teams placed within the top ten in the GLIAC Championship last weekend.

The women’s team had a very strong fin­ish­ing, plac­ing sec­ond just behind Grand Valley. As a team they had 83 points. Senior Tina Muir placed third in the 6k race with a time of 21:27.9, just behind two GVSU con­tenders. Sophomore Alyssa Osika took 18th place and senior Paige Onweller took 20th, shortly behind her fin­ished sopho­more Anna Rudd in 22nd. (more…)

The Bulldogs shocked the seem­ingly unbeat­able No. 1 nationally-ranked Miami (Ohio) RedHawks with two dra­matic vic­to­ries in a series sweep over the weekend.

Much prepa­ra­tion went into this series because of the com­pe­ti­tion and the oppor­tu­nity to poten­tially upset the top team in the coun­try. (more…)

Bulldogs get throttled by GVSU, look forward to GLIAC Tournament

The Bulldogs con­cluded their reg­u­lar sea­son Saturday, falling to the nation­ally ranked Grand Valley State University Lakers, 6–0.

The Bulldogs faced a tough chal­lenge play­ing GVSU in its own ter­ri­tory as the Lakers have not let any team score on them at home dur­ing the entire sea­son. GVSU was also ranked 9th in the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Midwest Region. (more…)
