Minors found with open alcohol in The Market

A round-up of this week’s crime across the FSU campus

Minors with alcohol

On March 23 at 1:30 a.m., there was a report of subjects near the Rock Café with open alcohol containers. The suspects were located in The Market and two people were ticketed for MIP.

Unlicensed driver

On March 25 at 7:10 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street due to suspicion that the driver was unlicensed. The driver was ticketed for driving with a suspended instructional permit.

Hit-and-run accident

On March 25 at 7:20 p.m., there was a report of a hit-and-run accident in Lot 44.

Vehicle stopped for weaving

On March 23 at 2:40 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street north of Perry Street for weaving between traffic lines. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was lodged in the county jail for OWI.

Accident in Lot 33

On March 20 at 11:30 a.m., there was a report of a hit-and-run accident in Lot 33.

Vehicle damage

On March 25 at 4:45 p.m., there was a report of vehicle damage in Lot 4. The passenger side rear-view mirror was broken.

Stolen tablet

On March 21 at 9 p.m., there was a report of a Sprint tablet stolen from a room in Helen Ferris Hall. The tablet was stolen sometime in February.

Two-car accident

On March 25 at 6:15 p.m., there was a report of a two-car accident in Lot 33.

Failure to report crash

On March 19 at 5:55 p.m., there was a report of a hit-and-run accident in Lot 27. The suspect’s vehicle was located and the subject was ticketed for failure to report the traffic crash.

Intoxicated driver lodged in county jail

On March 22 at 4 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle for weaving on 15 Mile Road. The driver was found to be intoxicated and lodged in county jail for OWI.

Ignoring traffic control device

On March 19 at 10:30 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle for disregarding a traffic control device. The driver was ticketed for driving on a suspended license.

Subject in Pickell ticketed for MIP

On March 20 at 10:15 a.m., officers assisted the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Department in Pickell Hall. One minor was found in possession of alcohol and ticketed for MIP.

Failure to stop at red light

On March 21 at 2:55 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle for failure to stop at a red light at State Street and South Street. The driver was ticketed for driving on a suspended temporary instructional permit.

Accident on Pickell Drive

On March 20 at 4:55 p.m., there was a report of a two-car accident on Pickell Drive.

Ticket Totals

From March 19 through March 26, the Department of Public Safety reported 406 violations. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $6,650. The actual amount depends on if the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
