Domestic assault at Wal-Mart

A round-up of this week’s crime across the FSU campus

Domestic assault

On March 10 at 5:40 p.m., officers assisted the sheriff’s department at Wal-Mart concerning a domestic assault. The suspect was arrested by the sheriff’s department and lodged in the county jail.

Driving on the sidewalk

On March 17 at 10:45 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle in Lot 9 for driving on a sidewalk. The driver was found to be intoxicated and lodged in the county jail.

Two-car accident

On March 5 at 1:30 p.m., there was a report of a two-car accident near FLITE library on Circle Drive.

Suspicious situation at the Rock

On March 17 at 5 p.m., officers investigated a suspicious situation at the Rock Café. A male and female were in a restroom together. The subjects were referred to the office of student conduct.

Intoxicated driver

On March 5 at 11:10 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Perry Avenue for weaving on the road. The driver was intoxicated and lodged in the county jail.

Hit-and-run

On March 6 at 4:10 p.m., there was a report of a hit-and-run crash in Lot 3.

Disorderly behavior at hockey game

On March 7 at 7:15 p.m., while working the Ferris hockey game, officers investigated two subjects for disorderly behavior. One subject was found to be a minor in possession and was ticketed.

Erratic driving

On March 9 at 12:30 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on State Street for erratic driving. The driver was found to have a suspended license and was ticketed.

Threatening text messages

On March 9 at 9:40 p.m., officers received a report of a threat complaint. The victim stated she had been receiving unwanted text messages from a subject about an altercation that occurred 3 days prior. The case was sent to the prosecutor’s office.

Accident in Lot 11

On March 7 at 3:20 p.m., there was a report of a two-car accident in Lot 11.

Fraud complaint

On March 6 at 1 p.m., officers investigated a fraud complaint that was reported through Housing. One suspect was identified and a warrant was sent to the prosecutor’s office.

Careless driving

On March 18 at 2:55 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle for careless driving on State Street near Ferris Drive. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was lodged in the county jail.

Threatening damage to car

On March 17 at 9:05 a.m., there was a report of threats being made between an ex- boyfriend and ex-girl friend. One subject threatened to damaged the other’s car.

Reckless driving

On March 18 at 12:55 a.m., officers observed a vehicle driving recklessly on State Street. The driver was located and ticketed for reckless driving.

Ticket Totals

From March 5 through March 19, the Department of Public Safety reported 416 violations. Each violator was ticketed for a total of $6,780. The actual amount depends on if the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
