Ferris program ranked number one in nation

Recently, the U.S. News and World Report ranked Ferris State University’s online masters of nursing program the number one program of its sort in the nation. This is certainly good news for all those who have worked to make this program great and for all the students who are currently enrolled in it.

Behind Ferris ranked Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas in second place and University of Michigan-Flint taking third place. Other Michigan universities included Michigan State University which ranked 43rd.

The U.S. News and World Report rankings for online graduate nursing programs took into account many different criteria which involved four broad categories: faculty credentials & training, student services & technology, student engagement and admissions selectivity. Out of 100, Ferris scored 76.3, 57.8, 80.9 and 80.1, respectively.

The graduate program at Ferris is fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. There are roughly 100 students currently enrolled in the program which offers many different concentrations to help specialize student degrees. These concentrations are nursing administration, nursing informatics and nursing education.

Online education seems to be a growing trend in the nation, with more and more people trying to work while attempting to get a college education. Ferris’ number one position in this recent ranking shows that the university is seeing and responding to this new educational climate sweeping the nation.
