UPDATE 12−07−12: Student injured at FLITE Wednesday morning

The Torch learned today that a stu­dent – not a main­te­nance worker – was injured after slip­ping and falling off a lad­der at FLITE on Wednesday morning.

Captain Jim Cook of Ferris Department of Public Safety con­firmed the male was a Ferris
stu­dent. After the fall, the stu­dent suf­fered a bro­ken leg. Cook said he did not any other
infor­ma­tion to dis­close about the inci­dent at this time.

Original Story from 12−05−12:
Wednesday morn­ing at FLITE, there was a sit­u­a­tion involv­ing a male falling off a lad­der while doing an inspec­tion on the heat­ing and cool­ing sys­tem on the roof.

Captain Jim Cook of Ferris Department of Public Safety it was to his under­stand­ing the male was on the lad­der con­duct­ing the inspec­tion when he fell from the lad­der. Cook said he has not spo­ken to the offi­cer who was on the scene.

“We don’t know his injuries,” Cook said. Cook also said they needed to use the city fire truck that had the lad­der to get him down.

“They are non-life threat­en­ing injuries,” Cook said.
