Bulldog junior pitcher Dana Bowler was selected as this issue’s “Athlete of the Week” fol­low­ing out­stand­ing per­for­mances against Hillsdale College this past week­end. In Friday’s game, Bowler earned the win in the cir­cle after strik­ing out seven bat­ters as she helped the Bulldogs post a 9–1 vic­tory over vis­it­ing Hillsdale. On Saturday, Bowler recorded a no-hitter as FSU defeated the Chargers by a 4–0 count. She struck out nine bat­ters and did not give up any walks.

This sea­son Bowler has appeared in 19 games for the Bulldogs. She cur­rently holds a 7–8 record on the mound and has pitched a team-leading 113.1 innings. She’s tal­lied 103 strike­outs while allow­ing 103 hits. Bowler holds oppo­nents to a .239 bat­ting average.

FSU cur­rently owns a 16–18 over­all mark and is 7–9 in GLIAC play. The Bulldogs will travel to Lake Superior State University April 10 for a con­fer­ence dou­ble­header begin­ning at 3 p.m.
