The Entrepreneurship Institute is putting on an event called “Innovation Unleashed” where students get a chance to present their five-minute business pitch while competing to win up to $750 to further their idea.
The event is set to take place April 11 at 6 p.m. in IRC 120. A $250 prize is being offered to the team that wins the audience’s choice award. Audience members are to vote for their favorite business idea.
Each audience member will receive a raffle ticket at the door and will be entered to win one of five $25 gift cards for attending. Winners will be drawn at the end of the competition. A $500 grand prize will be awarded along with $60 prizes for the first 10 teams to sign-up and compete.

The Shakespeare Festival is entirely student-organized and carried out with students who are primarily FSU English studies students. The festival is sponsored by a number of campus departments/divisions and over 100 high school students are expected to attend the event.

Earth Day 2012
The City of Big Rapids is holding its 22nd Annual City-Wide Litter Pick-up along with a chance to win prizes.
The event is set to take place on Saturday, April 21 from 9–11 a.m. at Big Rapids City Hall, 226 N. Michigan Ave. The clean-up contest gives a $50 gift certificate to each of the top five groups and/or individuals who bring back the greatest number of full trash bags to the City Hall dumpster before 11 a.m. that day.
