Innovation Unleashed

The Entrepreneurship Institute is putting on an event called “Innovation Unleashed” where stu­dents get a chance to present their five-minute busi­ness pitch while com­pet­ing to win up to $750 to fur­ther their idea.

The event is set to take place April 11 at 6 p.m. in IRC 120. A $250 prize is being offered to the team that wins the audience’s choice award. Audience mem­bers are to vote for their favorite busi­ness idea.

Each audi­ence mem­ber will receive a raf­fle ticket at the door and will be entered to win one of five $25 gift cards for attend­ing. Winners will be drawn at the end of the com­pe­ti­tion. A $500 grand prize will be awarded along with $60 prizes for the first 10 teams to sign-up and compete.

Shakespeare Festival

The Shakespeare Festival is entirely student-organized and car­ried out with stu­dents who are pri­mar­ily FSU English stud­ies stu­dents. The fes­ti­val is spon­sored by a num­ber of cam­pus departments/divisions and over 100 high school stu­dents are expected to attend the event.

The event is set for Tuesday, April 17 at 11 a.m. in the North Quad. The rain alter­na­tive site is the West Campus Community Center. For addi­tional infor­ma­tion, con­tact G’ne Holt at holtg1@ferris.edu.

Earth Day 2012

The City of Big Rapids is hold­ing its 22nd Annual City-Wide Litter Pick-up along with a chance to win prizes.

The event is set to take place on Saturday, April 21 from 9–11 a.m. at Big Rapids City Hall, 226 N. Michigan Ave. The clean-up con­test gives a $50 gift cer­tifi­cate to each of the top five groups and/or indi­vid­u­als who bring back the great­est num­ber of full trash bags to the City Hall dump­ster before 11 a.m. that day.
