Bulldog senior goaltender Taylor Nelson was selected as this issue’s “Athlete of the Week” following outstanding performances in FSU’s two-game sweep of Bowling Green State University (Feb. 17–18). In Friday’s game, Nelson nearly shutout the Falcons’ offense as the nationally top-ranked Bulldogs posted a 5–1 victory over visiting BGSU. He made 19 saves to earn the win. In Saturday night’s 4–1 win, Nelson notched 21 saves for FSU. With his help, the Bulldogs improved to 22−8−4 overall and 16−6−4 in CCHA play.
