Bulldog senior center Jordie Johnston was selected as this issue’s “Athlete of the Week” after helping FSU defeat fifth-ranked Ohio State University this past weekend. In Friday’s 4–3 victory, Johnston scored his 14th goal of the season for the 13th-ranked Bulldogs. He currently leads the team in goals scored this season.
Johnston has played in all 26 games for FSU this season and has earned 23 points for the Bulldogs while taking 66 shots. Four of his 14 goals this season have been game-winning goals. In addition, Johnston has contributed 9 assists.
With Johnston’s help, FSU improved to 15−8−3 overall and 9−6−3 in CCHA action this campaign. The Bulldogs will return to action Jan. 27–28 as they host Michigan State University in a two-game series. The puck will drop Friday and Saturday night at 7:05 p.m.
