It is not the size of the dog in the fight, but rather it is the size of the fight in the dog.

From sport­ing events to home­com­ing to recruit­ing, Brutus is often the first image peo­ple see when they get to Ferris. He is usu­ally the one cheer­ing the loud­est, caus­ing the most ruckus, and even the one­hav­ing time to make a kid smile at any event. (more…)

 
 

Bad Reputation

College generation often gets bad attention

Too often are col­lege stu­dents looked upon in a neg­a­tive light. Rather it be our lack of protests, our choices in music or our style of dress, we are often unfairly portrayed.

For a gen­er­a­tion that is often referred to as being lazy, non-caring and rude, a bold state­ment is clearly being made when we see so many col­lege stu­dents involved in their com­mu­ni­ties. (more…)

Women’s golf team captures tournament title

The Ferris State University women’s golf team claimed its sec­ond tour­na­ment cham­pi­onship of the 2010-11 season.

The Bulldogs cap­tured a first place fin­ish at the Ohio Dominican Give 18 Fore Cancer Classic in Pataskala, Ohio, this week­end. The team recorded a 643 two-round team stroke total. (more…)

FSU sees largest enrollment in school history

If you have to drive around cam­pus for 20 min­utes just to find a park­ing spot, it may be because Ferris State is the fastest grow­ing pub­lic uni­ver­sity in Michigan.

In 2000, the fall enroll­ment listed 9,847 stu­dents accord­ing to the 2010-11 Fact Book pub­lished by Institutional Research and Testing. Ten years later, Ferris’ enroll­ment for the fall 2010 semes­ter was 14,318. This rep­re­sents the largest num­ber of stu­dents enrolled in the school’s his­tory and a 45 per­cent increase in just a decade. (more…)

Ferris track teams prep for Bulldog Invitational

A team effort was pre­sented in a non-scoring event at Aquinas on April 1–2 fea­tur­ing sev­eral top place fin­ishes for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs had a chance to bring the team together in the Grand Rapids Open hosted by Aquinas. The event fea­tured student-athletes from west Michigan schools that included Davenport University, Cornerstone University, Calvin, Aquinas, Hope, and Ferris State. (more…)

Bulldog senior Kyle Wittenbach shoots par at weekend tourney, team finishes 11th

Behind a season-best out­ing from senior Kyle Wittenbach, the Bulldogs’ men’s golf team placed 11th out of 25 teams at the NCAA-II Midwest Region Tournament II this weekend.

At the two-round tour­na­ment, which was held at the Cherry Blossom Golf Course at Georgetown, Ky., Wittenbach posted a score of 144 on the week­end to fin­ish tied for sec­ond with Wayne State’s Steve Fedewa and Casey Pyne from Lewis University. Thomas Hay from Drury University claimed the first-place hon­ors with a one-under par score of 143 in two rounds of play. (more…)

On Mar. 31 at 9:10 p.m., there was a report of a dis­or­derly sub­ject at the con­cert at Wink Arena. The sub­ject was lodged in the county jail for felo­nious assault.

Egged car
