A summer job can benefit students in many ways

Decisions on what to do dur­ing the sum­mer can be dif­fi­cult for col­lege stu­dents to make. We have money on the mind, but most do not want to work when the weather is beautiful.

Higher edu­ca­tion costs money. This should come as no sur­prise. Unfortunately, pay­ing for that edu­ca­tion falls on most stu­dents’ shoul­ders. Deciding whether to accu­mu­late a mas­sive mound of debt or attempt­ing to pay off col­lege now is a deci­sion most stu­dents face on a reg­u­lar basis. (more…)

Reading often gets tossed to the back­burner dur­ing the aca­d­e­mic year, but now that sum­mer is upon us it is time to dust off the old read­ing list.

Getting started on your sum­mer read­ing is always the hard­est part. What book to read, how long is it, is it bor­ing, are all ques­tions that roam through the mind when you look at the vari­ety of books avail­able to read. (more…)

 
 

FSU Softball Coach Becker Takes Job at GVSU

BIG RAPIDS — Ferris State soft­ball coach Keri Becker has taken a posi­tion as Assistant Director of Athletics/Senior Women’s Administrator at Grand Valley State University.

Becker, who most recently was the head soft­ball coach and senior women’s admin­is­tra­tor at Ferris State, will offi­cially begin her duties at Grand Valley State on August 8, 2011. (more…)
