Ask any Bulldog soft­ball player; it’s been a long season.

From infi­nite ground balls in the “rub­ber room” to nearly unbear­able weather con­di­tions to a series of dis­ap­point­ing losses that left the entire team ques­tion­ing each other as well as them­selves. At times, it seemed like this sea­son would never end. (more…)

If you’re stay­ing in Big Rapids for the sum­mer, one per­son you’re sure to see hard at work around cam­pus is Athletic Director Perk Weisenburger.

With his first year at the helm for the Bulldog ath­letic depart­ment under his belt, Weisenburger is pleased with the program’s suc­cess thus far and hopes to build upon it in the future. (more…)

FSU athletes and students offer their time over spring break

With sum­mer rapidly approach­ing, most col­lege stu­dents are count­ing down the days until they can sleep til noon and lay by the pool for hours.

While time for fun is cer­tainly nec­es­sary, how about donat­ing a por­tion of your sum­mer to some­thing a bit more mean­ing­ful than work­ing on your tan? Setting a per­fect exam­ple were four Bulldog student-athletes who traded in the typ­i­cal spring break expe­ri­ence for the chance to make a dif­fer­ence in the lives of poverty-stricken Americans. Wasting Your Summer Away

Make the most of your three-month break

Since first real­iz­ing the sum­mer sea­son meant no school, stu­dents, espe­cially col­lege stu­dents, have been eagerly await­ing its arrival.

Now that sum­mer is offi­cially here, make sure it does not go to waste. For new col­lege stu­dents or even those going into their final year, our sum­mers are lim­ited until we’re forced to join the “real world.” What I mean by the real world is work­ing full time until you retire with no three-month break ever. It sounds rather depress­ing writ­ten out that way, but do not worry, we have not grad­u­ated yet. (more…)
