As finals started to get into full swing, a few students decided to get the party started early and attempt to start a rave/flash mob in the library. Word spread around Facebook quickly and by the start of the event over 950 people were “attending”. The rave/flash mob caught so much attention early that by the time the event was supposed to happen, DPS and extra crowd control were already lining the library, checking bags for speakers and other potential disruptive materials. Entertainment Unlimited’s last event of the year ended with a bang, literally. As students rushed to be onstage and be hypnotized by Sailesh Jiawan, who has been dubbed by MTV Europe as the “Best hypnotist on the planet”. Sailesh quickly had the crowed laughing with his “R-rated” show, taking hypnotism to a much dirtier level than other hypnotists in the past. Volunteers performed in raunchy acts to an enthused crowd. FNTFO concerned with pace of negotiations
The FSU adjunct union will be picketing near the Timme Center for Student Services on April 28 in an attempt to bring campus-wide attention to contract negotiations.
The Ferris Nontenure-Track Organization (FNTFO) began organizing last spring and represents an estimated 100 nontenure-track faculty on Ferris’ Big Rapids campus. (more…)
Don’t waste away your time in college
If I could give one piece of advice as I leave Ferris, it would be to get off your butt.
What I mean by that is while the occasional quiet night at home is nice, but do not make a habit out of it. So log out of World of Warcraft, put down the pipe, get off of Facebook and stop watching Netflix. (more…)
The annual concert event attracted a whole arena full of people…literally
The concert that is considered by most to be the biggest Ferris State University event of the year was moved into Wink Arena this year due to inclement weather. The arena drew in a crowd so large that maximum capacity was reached, and they had to begin turning people away. (more…)
Bulldogs add eight to 2011 recruiting class

FSU scholarship created in Ellen Haneline’s honor
The memory of Dr. Ellen Haneline, former Dean of the College of Allied Health Sciences, will live on through the newly established Ferris State University Ellen Haneline Scholarship.
The scholarship was created by her husband Dr. Douglas Haneline, a Ferris Language and Literature professor and his daughter Elizabeth, a Ferris computer technician for a student in the allied health program. A ceremony to introduce the new scholarship will be held April 29 at 2 p.m. in the atrium of the Michigan College of Optometry Building. (more…)
Bulldogs practice for upcoming NCAA-II Midwest/South Central Super Regional
The Ferris men’s golf team travelled to Bath, Mich., on April 22–23 to get a feel for what the neutral course and field of competition for the GLIAC Tournament would be like in the fall season.
Ferris took on teams interested in previewing the upcoming GLIAC Championship Tournament scheduled for the 2011-12 season at Eagle Eye Golf Club in Bath. (more…)
