Students went to local Big Rapids houses to rake, clean windows, paint and enjoy a day outside while serving the local community members that may not be able to do the work. Time for Thought

You know how they say don’t believe everything you hear? Well, don’t believe everything you read either.

As I overheard conversations last week about how Justin Bieber is coming to Ferris Fest, a sly smirk immediately crossed my face. All it took was for one or two people to read the front-page headline of last week’s Torch and tell their friends without reading into it. (more…)

Justin Keenan just wanted to win a championship. That’s the one goal the senior center for the Bulldogs had during his collegiate basketball career.

But while the Bulldogs fell short of that goal this year after an impressive run to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament this season, Keenan will have to settle for finishing his Bulldog career as one of the most prolific players in GLIAC history. (more…)

Is pharmacy the only health science with the right to complain?

by Published: Apr 6, 2011

Though Ferris State might get bashed sometimes, we really do have a lot of great programs depending on what you’re going into.

For example, our health care programs are really something to be proud of, such as all our allied health, optometry, and of course, our prestigious pharmacy program. (more…)

A snowy spring has kept the Bulldogs from playing on their home field at all this season, forcing game-day cancellations and even relocation. But the Bulldogs have not let that faze them.

The Bulldogs submerged the Lake Superior State Lakers in both games of a single doubleheader April 2. Ferris travelled to Rockford High School to host the Lakers, in an attempt to avoid bad weather and field conditions. But due to winter weather conditions scheduled doubleheaders on March 31 and April 3 were cancelled. (more…)
