Promotions in the PTM program/Racquet and Fitness Center

Derek Ameel, Director/Manager of the Professional Tennis Management Program and the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center, recently announced the pro­mo­tions of Amy Nestle and Alex Palladino. Nestle is now the Assistant Manager and Activities Coordinator for the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center. Palladino, cur­rent FSU men’s and women’s head ten­nis coach, is now the Head Tennis Professional for the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.

FSU women’s bas­ket­ball team cap­tured split in Ohio road trip

The FSU women’s bas­ket­ball team earned a road split with a 69–56 over Ohio Dominican University fol­low­ing a 78–49 loss to Tiffin University to open GLIAC play. In Thursday’s game against Tiffin, sopho­more guard Sarah DeShone paced the Bulldogs with 13 points. However, FSU could not over­come unde­feated TU as the Dragons forced 24 Bulldog turnovers. Saturday, DeShone led FSU to its first con­fer­ence vic­tory of the sea­son as she scored a game-high 18 points. Freshman for­ward Christina Branch notched a double-double with 16 points and a contest-best 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs. With the win over Ohio Dominican, FSU improved to 3–2 over­all and 1–1 in GLIAC action.

Pair of FSU women’s vol­ley­ball play­ers earned All-American hon­ors

After lead­ing the Bulldogs to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Semifinals and a league cham­pi­onship, senior out­side hit­ter Ashley Huntey and senior libero Lisa Tobiczyk earned All-American recog­ni­tion. Huntey gar­nered third-team hon­ors while Tobiczyk was named hon­or­able men­tion. With their selec­tions, Huntey and Tobiczyk became the 12th and 13th indi­vid­u­als to receive All-American lau­rels in FSU vol­ley­ball history.

Toss a Toy at Friday’s hockey game against Notre Dame

Friday’s men’s ice hockey game against University of Notre Dame will fea­ture the annual Teddy Bear Toss. Fans are encour­aged to bring a new or gen­tly used stuffed ani­mal to the game and throw it onto the ice after the first Bulldog goal. The stuffed ani­mals will be col­lected and donated to the Toys for Tots char­ity. Game time is sched­uled for 7:05 p.m. at the Ewigleben Ice Arena.
