Breaking and entering

Sept. 9 at 12:30 a.m., offi­cers assisted the city police in the area of Michigan Avenue and Chesnut Street for break­ing and enter­ing. A sub­ject was found run­ning from the scene and the offi­cer found the sub­ject near Subway. The sub­ject was lodged in county jail.

 

Destruction of property

Sept. 16 at 10:05 p.m., there was a report of mali­cious destruc­tion of prop­erty in the Rock Café. The sub­ject was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

 

Missing lap­top

Sept. 18 at 10:10 p.m., there was a report of theft of a lap­top in Merrill Hall. The case is still under investigation.

 

Illegal room entry

Sept. 18 at 9:30 p.m., there was a report of an ille­gal room entry in Hallisy Hall. Nothing of value was stolen from the room. The inci­dent remains under investigation.

 

Girl fight

Sept. 17 at 7:10 p.m., there was a report of a fight at Bond Hall. The inci­dent occurred in the laun­dry room on the first floor of South Bond.  It occurred the night before between 9 and 10 p.m. and involved a large group of females hav­ing a dis­pute over the washer and dry­ers. Anyone who has any infor­ma­tion is asked to come forth.

 

Removed from campus

Sept. 17 at 11:20 p.m., offi­cers assisted a report of a dis­or­derly sub­ject in Lot 39. Two were non-students and over the age of 21 and were drink­ing. The two sub­jects were removed from campus.

 

Intoxicated

Sept. 17 at 12:40 a.m., there was a report of an intox­i­cated sub­ject in Clark Hall. Four sub­jects were tick­eted for being MIP.

 

Possession of marijuana

Sept. 19 at 1:30 a.m., offi­cers inves­ti­gated a sus­pi­cious sit­u­a­tion in Lot 4. Five sub­jects were referred to the Office of Student Conduct for mar­i­juana. There was a war­rant request sent for one sub­ject to the prosecutor’s office for pos­ses­sion of marijuana. 

 

Intoxicated dri­ver

Sept. 17 at 3:30 a.m., offi­cers stopped a vehi­cle on Ferris Drive for a stop sign vio­la­tion. The dri­ver was intox­i­cated and lodged in the county jail for OWI. One pas­sen­ger was tick­eted for MIP.

 

Large group

Sept. 16 at 1:45 a.m., offi­cers encoun­tered a large group of peo­ple on Michigan Avenue near Cedar Street. One sub­ject was tick­eted for MIP.

 

Improper hand­i­cap sign

Sept. 15 at 12:55 p.m., offi­cers became aware of improper use of a hand­i­cap per­mit in Lot 36. The owner of the vehi­cle was tick­eted and the police con­fis­cated the dis­played permit.

 

Erratic dri­ving

Sept. 16 at 2:15 a.m., offi­cers stopped a vehi­cle at Northland Drive at 14 Mile Road for erratic dri­ving. The dri­ver was intox­i­cated and lodged in the coun­try jail for OWI.

 

Disorderly sub­jects

Sept. 15 at 2:10 a.m., offi­cers were dis­patched to Brophy Hall for dis­or­derly sub­jects. One sub­ject was tick­eted for MIP and two sub­jects were referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

 

Quad trou­bles

Sept. 14 at 2:45 a.m., offi­cers encoun­tered an intox­i­cated sub­ject in the quad. The sub­ject was lodged in the county jail. Two other sub­jects were tick­eted for MIP.

 

Wrong way

Sept. 9 at 1:30 p.m., offi­cers assisted the sher­iff depart­ment for a vehi­cle trav­el­ing the wrong way on the express­way. The area was checked and they were unable to locate the vehicle.

 

Ticket Totals: From Sept. 13 through the 20th, the Department of Public Safety iden­ti­fied 589 vio­la­tors. Each vio­la­tor was tick­eted for a total of $9,710. Actual amount depends on whether the ticket was paid, voided or reduced.
