Missing Textbooks

Dec. 16 at 12:10 p.m., there was a lar­ceny of text­books com­plaint. The sub­ject stated she was miss­ing a text­book. Investigation revealed a pos­si­ble sus­pect who was involved in another text­book com­plaint. The sus­pect was inter­viewed and sent to the prosecutor’s office for charges.

Busted Windows

Dec. 16 at 9:15 p.m., offi­cers were called to Lot 5 for an MDOP (mali­cious destruc­tion of prop­erty) com­plaint. Car door win­dows were smashed out of the subject’s vehi­cle the pre­vi­ous night. No suspects.

OWI

Dec. 16 at 11:44 p.m., offi­cers per­formed a traf­fic stop at Perry Avenue and State Street. A car drove through a red light. The sub­ject was found to be OWI (oper­at­ing while intox­i­cated) and lodged in the county jail.

Stolen Glasses

Dec. 16, offi­cers were dis­patched to the Optometry Center for a com­plaint in ref­er­ence to stolen eye glasses. Investigation revealed that the glasses were stolen in 2007 and now being returned. The sus­pect was iden­ti­fied and interviewed.

Missing Bicycle

Dec. 16 at 2:45 a.m., there was a lar­ceny com­plaint in Merrill Hall for a stolen bicy­cle. The bike was a black GT Windstream and was stolen from a bike rack. No suspects.

Suspicious Activity

Dec. 16 at 3:22 a.m., offi­cers were called to Merrill Hall in ref­er­ence to the smell of mar­i­juana. The sub­jects admit­ted to using mar­i­juana. The offi­cers did not locate any mar­i­juana in the room. The mat­ter was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Suspicious Smell

Jan. 12 at 9 p.m., offi­cers dis­patched to Merrill Hall for a smell of mar­i­juana com­plaint. The sub­jects denied using and pos­sess­ing mar­i­juana. Officers did not locate any mar­i­juana in the room. One sub­ject was arrested for an out­stand­ing warrant.

Larceny Complaint

Jan. 12 at 2 p.m., offi­cers were dis­patched to the Rankin Center for a lar­ceny com­plaint. A sub­ject believed that her wal­let was miss­ing from her purse. No suspects.

Ticket Totals: From Dec. 9 through the 18, the Department of Public Safety iden­ti­fied 497 vio­la­tors. Each vio­la­tor was tick­eted for a total of $8,060. Actual amount depends on whether the ticket was paid, voided, or reduced. n
