Asinine Advising

Students often complain about not getting enough help from their advisors

by Published: Nov 10, 2010

I have heard a vast multitude of horror stories from both friends and strangers about having issues with their advisors.

Students being one class short of being able to graduate, not having enough classes over the 300 level to graduate, taking classes that they did not even need, and being told a required course transferred when it really didn’t are just a few examples of these problems. (more…)

How to efficiently buy and sell textbooks

Textbooks are an obvious necessity for college, but it does not mean you need to buy all the recommended books from only one bookstore.

Most of us have already registered for our spring semester classes, and we will be preparing to sell back our books from this semester and replace them with a tower of new books. (more…)

Make the Call Home

Though parents seem to check in too often, they deserve the time of day

by Published: Nov 10, 2010

As I finished up my senior year of high school, I could not wait to get my freedom.

Sure, I loved my parents and my home, but there was just something so enticing about a fresh start, about making my own decisions, about essentially having my own place to stay and being able to keep it how I wanted it. (more…)

The Bulldogs shocked the seemingly unbeatable No. 1 nationally-ranked Miami (Ohio) RedHawks with two dramatic victories.

“I was very happy with the win and it meant a lot to the team because obviously Miami has a terrific program,” said Ferris head coach Bob Daniels. “It meant a little bit more because it was Miami.” (more…)
