Kirinovic retiring after 27-year career with the athletic department

Ferris State Athletics Director Tom Kirinovic announced his retire­ment at a press con­fer­ence on June 2 after more than 10 years in the position.

Kirinovic, a Ferris grad­u­ate, has been the Athletics Director since November 1999 and served in the Ferris ath­let­ics depart­ment for 27 years. The retire­ment will be offi­cial as of June 30 and the uni­ver­sity will con­duct a nation­wide search to find a suc­ces­sor.Prior to becom­ing the ath­let­ics direc­tor, Kirinovic served as Ferris’ asso­ciate ath­let­ics direc­tor for five years. Kirinovic also served as assis­tant ath­let­ics direc­tor, ice arena man­ager, fundrais­ing man­ager and ath­letic busi­ness man­ager through­out his career.

Bulldog soft­ball head coach Keri Becker will serve as the Interim Athletics Director. Becker, who serves as the Senior Women’s Administrator, has served as the soft­ball coach for 13 sea­sons and led the Bulldogs to a GLIAC Championship in 2000.
