As some Ferris State students use their summer vacation to relax on the beach, many students have made a trip to Detroit to watch America’s pastime, which is a summer tradition.

While activities such as going to concerts and camping out are staples of a college student’s summer, more and more Ferris students have made going to a Detroit Tigers game an annual summer tradition. (more…)

Will Work for Summer

The end of the school year often means more students looking for summer jobs

by Published: Jun 27, 2010

For many students at Ferris State University, finding a summer job can become one of the toughest tasks to accomplish.

As tuition and other college expenses build throughout the academic school year, finding a way to pay them off begins to become a necessity. Often a good way to keep these expenses from building is to find a summer job. (more…)

The Ferris State football team will be looking to get back to their winning ways this upcoming fall as they kick off the season on Sept. 3.

The Bulldogs broke their streak of three consecutive years with a winning season as they finished the 2009 campaign with an abysmal 1–10 record. Their only win was against winless Tiffin University. It was the team’s second losing season in the past nine years. Head Coach Jeff Pierce will be returning to the program for his 16th season as a Bulldog. The Bulldogs have recorded nine winning seasons out of the 15 years that Pierce has spent at the helm. Beach Savvy

Visiting a beach in Michigan is a must

by Published: Jun 21, 2010

Nothing says summer more than the feeling of sand between your toes and the sound of water lapping on the beach.

As summer begins, many students find hours of extra time on their hands. A great way to spend their newly-acquired free time is with a trip to a Michigan beach. (more…)

Making the Transition

by Published: Jun 18, 2010

As I finish my junior year of college and get ready to enter my final year of school, I enter a phase of uncertainty and nervous excitement as my time at Ferris ticks away.

For many past and current students, nearing the end of college can bring on a quarter-life crisis, as I have experienced lately. (more…)

Avoiding the Freshman Fifteen

Many first-year students are finding it difficult to lose those extra pounds

With all the heavy studying and quick meals, a number of first-year students fall victim to the freshman fifteen.

The freshman fifteen is a term used to describe the increased weight first-year students often gain once coming to college. (more…)

When I first arrived to college, I was eager to get out and explore the campus and meet new people. After you get settled into your room and get acquainted with your roommate, if you have one, get out of your room for awhile and go check out the Ferris campus and meet other students. Remember, you’re in college and it’s a whole new experience.

Get to know other people in your residence halls and attend events that are put on in your hall. It will give you a chance to make new friends. (more…)
