Ferris Fest 2010

Entertainment Unlimited announced Anberlin will be the headliner for Ferris Fest 2010.

The announcement was made last Thursday at the Food Dude 5-star event. In addition to Anberlin, EU said that Mike Posner has confirmed to be an opening act at the event. No other entertainers have been announced or confirmed as of yet.

Rachel Moloney, overall Ferris Fest chair, said the three acts that received the most votes were either unavailable or raised their price by the time the student surveys were in. After EU put in a few different offers on bands, they compiled a final list of bands mentioned often in the survey.

The EU Executive Board voted on the list of acts and Anberlin ranked number one. Moloney said Mike Posner also went over well on the student surveys and is a very up and coming artist.

“We took into consideration who would draw the largest crowd, who would put on the best show, and making sure the chosen band fit the rock criteria students expressed they wanted,” said Moloney.

Moloney and the rest of EU hope to put on a very diverse show similar to the one they had last year. They plan on booking at least two more openers for Ferris Fest.

“Our goal really is to reach the community and as many students as possible,” said Moloney.
