Movie: “Son of Rambow”

The Big Rapids Community Library will be hav­ing a free show­ing of the English com­edy, “Son of Rambow.” In the ‘80s a group of out­sider English school­boys sets out to make a movie based on the Rambo series. MLK 2010 Annual Freedom March

The Office of Multicultural Student Services will host the annual Freedom March that will kick off the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. The march will take place at 3 p.m. on Jan. 18 and will travel from Merrill/Travis Hall to the Rankin Center Lobby. Some brief remarks and refresh­ments will fol­low the con­clu­sion of the march. MLK 2010 Tunnel of Oppression

The Tunnel of Oppression and Room of Reflection Exhibit will fea­ture a mul­ti­me­dia dis­play of images of groups of peo­ple oppressed dur­ing the Jim Crow Era as well as some from today.
